Sandy beach, the summer sky
As blue as blue and the sun is high.
Here on the shore, you and me,
Watching the waves of the deep blue sea.

We can run and skip and play,
Here on the beach this sunshine day,
Fishing with nets in the big rock pool,
With no thoughts of sums or spelling at school.

Cotton wool clouds float on by,
High in the turquoise summer sky.
Let’s build a castle made of sand,
And then dance to the tune of the marching band.

Grown ups sit in deck chairs,
Two by two, pair by pair,
Grandad has bought us all ice cream,
What a day! What a life! What a beautiful dream!
